Appelsbosch Farm is situated outside of Swellendam
at the foot of the Langeberg Mountains.
This place is a unique platform for a host of
various activities, ideas and lifestyles.
The farm boasts indigenous forests, beautiful dams,
pine plantations, lush pastures, rolling hills and blue, blue mountains.
Our local inhabitants include baboons, bushbuck,
springbuck, wild boar, Jersey cattle, sheep, horses, parrots, and loads of
smaller quieter wild animals and of coarse a group of Homosapiens that
love the country life!
Appelsbosch is also host to many
outdoor events. Appelsbosch Vlei is a fantastic natural outdoor
venue available for many
different uses. Currently some of these include
horse shows,
picnics,
team building events,
camping, bird watching, festivals,
outdoor parties,
a filming location
and many more.
The farm is situated on the 2008 Cape Epic Route and we have set up a 12km
marked mountain bike route incorporating some of the technical sections
of the Epic. From the farm one can also access many longer routes for
the more enthusiastic Cyclist.
The farm also boasts many hiking trails and access to the Marloth Nature
Reserve trails.
Our neighbour is the Bontebok National park, where you can take a drive
down to the river and see some game; Zebra, Bontebok, Springbuck and
loads of other animals.
